In 2010, David & Rebecca suffered every parent’s worst nightmare when their 12 month old baby girl Georgia was diagnosed with neurological motor and sensory disorders. Georgia also struggled with food intolerances and ended up on a strict gluten & dairy “& everything else” free diet.
In 2011 they worked with a group of other parents in their community to set up a charity and intensive therapy service for children with disabilities, called GlowKids. However, they came to realize that parents everywhere struggled to afford specialist therapy and GlowKids, like many charities, struggled with organizing fundraising events each year.
Inspired by a trip to the Whole Foods Market (www.wholefoodsmarket.com) in Vancouver in early 2014, David dreamed up FabFeb as a healthy eating challenge that would raise money for children with disabilities around the world.
